Syfte
In this course, we will introduce the computer system at Chalmers, and study the basics of MATLAB. The students are supposed to learn enough about the computers and MATLAB to be able to take an active part in the daily work at their respective programs.
Lärandemål (efter fullgjord kurs ska studenten kunna)
· find the computers, printers and helpdesks at Chalmers campus
· log in and be familiar with basic functionality, such as printing
· start MATLAB and use basic MATLAB commands, e.g., understand MATLAB vectors and matrices
· differentiate between a script and a function in MATLAB
· write simple scripts and functions (m-files)
· find help inside MATLAB and on the web.
Innehåll
The course is divided into two parts:
* Computer basics, describing the computer system at Chalmers.
* MATLAB basics, introducing the student to MATLAB, and basic m-file programming.
Organisation
The course consists of 4 lectures, and 2 small projects. The students are divided into small groups, and each group is examined in an oral exam after each project.

Examination
The 2 projects must be passed. The only possible grades are passed or not passed .
