The newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, Ken Howery, is coming to visit Chalmers University of Technology.

He will discuss Swedish-American relations, the issues he wants to prioritise as Ambassador, as well as technology and innovation.
Kenneth "Ken" Alan Howery was born in Texas in 1975 and graduated in Economics from Stanford in 1998. That same year, he founded Paypal, together with Elon Musk among others. When Paypal was acquired by Ebay in 2002, Ken Howery worked as Ebay's head of business development.

Since 2005 he has worked as an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, specialising in creating and financing technology companies, through measures including the venture capital fund Founders Fund, which he started with partner Peter Thiel, and which has a turnover in the billions of dollars.

In 2010, Venture Capital Journal named Ken Howery one of the top 10 venture capitalists under 36. He has lectured on entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School and Stanford, and has helped students at the University of California, Berkeley and the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin to develop business models.

Ken Howery is a member of The Explorers Club, a non-profit group that promotes scientific exploration. He is also an advisor to Kiva, a charity that enables people to lend money over the Internet to entrepreneurs in low-income countries.
On the November 7th 2019, the Ambassador presented his credentials to HM King and this is his first official visit to Gothenburg.

You are most welcome!
