Apply on-line at the Swedish Migration Agency’s web site. Application for extension should be submitted while the current state is still valid and at the earliest six months before the current state ends.
Extend residence permit for the second year of the Master Programme
If you meet the criteria for acceptable progress in your studies you should print all required documents by yourself. Use the on-line services "Create transcript of records" and “Create certificate of registration” at the Student Portal. You will be re-directed to Student Ladok, select "Get certificate". You also need to attach your Notification of selection results (see below) to your application. The Swedish Migration Agency will acknowledge these documents.
Extend residence permit for completing the master thesis
If you need an extended residence permit for completing your master thesis, the supervisor should issue the certificate below. The certificate should be included in your application to support your academic results and explain your study situation. Forward it to your supervisor for completion, printing and signing.
Extend residence permit for completing courses
If you have unfinished courses left after the date you originally were expected to be finished with your studies, you need to contact your Student Guidance Councellor who can issue the required certificate below. The certificate should be included in your application
to support your academic results and explain your study situation.
Forward it to your Student Guidance Councellor for completion, printing and signing.

The official notification of selection results is available on your account at
universityadmissions.se, and serves as an official document in your application.

about your studies and study situation. The decision about
