If you get nominated for exchange studies you will be contacted by the responsible coordinator who will help you proceed with the application to the host university. Chalmers cannot guarantee that you'll get accepted by the host university. If the entry requirements are met, there is usually no problem.
Application to the host university
Please note that the deadlines vary and sometimes you must appy quickly after the nomination. The application procedure varies but most partner universities use on line application systems. Often you have to provide additional documents such as transcripts, language certificates, a copy of your passport etc.
The Learning agreement (LA) states which courses you plan to study during your exchange. Plan your studies carefully and consult the director of studies of your programme to make sure you can transfer the courses and count the credits in your degree. The Learning agreement should be signed by Chalmers and the host university. A signed LA should warrant for full recognition of your exchange studies.
You will receive a contact person when you get nominated at the host university along with information about important dates, course selection, language requirements etc. You should contact your director of studies at the latest three weeks before you send in your application to discuss your study plan and get your course selection preliminary approved. When you contact your director of studies you should include the course plans in English where education-level and content is clear.
When you do your study plan consider the following:
- Courses may not overlap other courses in your degree in terms of content.
- Courses should be on master level.
- Courses should be in a relevant field.
- You are expected to undertake full time studies.
