Outbound exchange students
Outbound exchange students at Chalmers are covered by a group insurance policy for exchange students, called Student UT. The requirement is that you must be studying within an exchange agreement, i.e. that an agreement has been established between Chalmers and the foreign University. The insurance is valid 24 hours a day in the country of education as long as you are studying, two weeks before and two weeks after your studies, and during direct travel between your home town and the country of education. The insurance provides personal injury cover and general travel protection and gives excellent basic protection. However, if you wish to take out additional cover, you must arrange it yourself. Please note that some countries/universities demand that students buy an extra insurance.
Shipping and marine technology students are covered by Student UT while on a vessel as part of a course. The insurance is valid 24 hours a day worldwide, except in Sweden. In Sweden, the student insurance applies, see above.
