Course specific prerequisites
Fundamentals of Digital Systems and Computer Engineering, Electronics, Computer Programming.
Aim
The course is purely project-oriented. In groups of five the students works with the conception, design, implementation and evaluation of a reasonable digital systems project of their choice.
Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)
After completing the course, the student should be able to
- design a small-sized digital system
- master modern computer-based design tool (CAD) in a small-sized design
- present a design by preparing and giving oral and written presentations.
Content
Work in designing and implementing a small digital device.
Organisation
Starts with lectures and laboratory exercises.
Each group can either propose a project on their own or select a project from a project catalog.
Components, instruments an other equipment are made available in project rooms for a period of six weeks.
The project shall be documented in a written report. Course ends with a number of compulsory seminars in which the various projects are reported.
