Eligibility:

For single subject courses within Chalmers programmes the same eligibility requirements apply, as to the programme(s) that the course is part of.

Aim

Modern electronics has reached a complexity where improvised methods of
design are no longer efficient. The purpose of this course is to make
the student skilled in contemporary industrial design methods for large
electronic systems, predominantly digital systems.

After completing the course students shall have the ability to

- interpret a requirement description and transform it into a working
digital implementation, using hardware description languages and
graphical methods.

- utilize the design aids that are required to design a digital
electronic system.

- choose and use a suitable verification method for the design

- evaluate and choose CPLD and FPGA technologies, depending on
performance, testability, production and environmental constraints.
