Aim

The goal of the course is to give an introduction into the field of noise control engineering. It concerns basic acoustics such as perception of sound, propagation of sound and vibrations in different media, radiation from structures, vibration isolation. Etc. The course has a strong focus on understanding and is preparation for the master programme Sound and Vibration or the specialisation Ljud och vibrationer . On request, the course can be given in English. Course material is in English.

The course gives an introduction into basic acoustics and noise control engineering
It includes
wave propagation in structures and fluids
sound fields in cavities
modal an statistic approach
the application of damping and isolation for noise control engineering purposes
sound insulation and sound radiation from structures
