Eligibility:

For single subject courses within Chalmers programmes the same eligibility requirements apply, as to the programme(s) that the course is part of.

Course specific prerequisites

Basic courses in electronic circuits as well as logic design
and switching theory. It is desirable that the student also has taken EME010 Digital VLSI Design and EDA915 Digital Electronics Design.

Aim

To give in-depth studies in the design and verification of complex high-speed digital systems and to understand fundamental limitations in operation and performance of digital circuits caused by electrical properties

Goal

After completing the course the student will
- have acquired a deeper understanding of a particular topic related to the course
- have acquired a holistic view of design and verification methods within the general area of advanced digital design

Content

The course contains a number of lectures addressing a variety of topics. The lectures are given by different lecturers from academia as well as industry. The topics vary from year to year.

Organisation

There are ten lectures in the course. Four lecture occasions will be used by the students to present their term paper works.

Attendance on 75% of the lectures and a completed term paper, incl. presentation, is required to obtain pass.
