Course specific prerequisites

It is the obligation of supervisor and examiner to assure themselves that the student have the right prerequisites.

Aim

In connection with Project course D it may be important for a student to gain special knowledge in an area usually not covered by courses in the D-program or a neighbour program. In such a case a self-study course can be defined. Such a course shall also give the student experience in
forming, carrying out and reporting a self-study.

Goal

Goals regarding subject and skills are given by supervising teacher.

Content

The area of this self-study course shall be well-defined.

Organisation

A self-study course shall only be defined when it is absolutely necessary and that is when there are no corrsponding course in the curriculum. It can only be formed together with a D3 project. The content is defined in cooperation with supervisor and examiner.

Literature

A suitable textbook or other literature is chosen.

Examination

Forms are determined by examiner. An external examiner may be choosen when needed.
