In order to be eligible for a second cycle course the applicant needs to fulfil the general and specific entry requirements of the programme that owns the course. (If the second cycle course is owned by a first cycle programme, second cycle entry requirements apply.)
Exemption from the eligibility requirement: Applicants enrolled in a programme at Chalmers where the course is included in the study programme are exempted from fulfilling these requirements.

Aim

The course aims at providing students with skills and tools necessary to facilitate analysis of international business relationships and their nature, including a firm¿s opportunities and challenges with regard to internationalization processes.

Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)

- Describe and analyse central features of business relationships with a focus on international aspects
- Analyse business relationships as parts of global networks
- Formulate and evaluate global marketing and supply strategies
- Address the abilities and challenges faced by firms when involved in international business relatiohships

Content

The course focuses on international business relationships, and how these relationships create possibilites and challenges for  firms. The firms network position becomes the starting point for addressing the process of internationalization.  Accordingly, in the course internationalization and globalization are addresses along with themes focusing on sourcing internationally, business models in global markets,and cultural aspects of conducting business.

Organisation

The course is based on a combination of lectures, project assignment in groups and seminars. There will be a strong discursive element to each class and students are expected to participate actively.
