Aim
The course shall give an understanding of how the technical unfrastructure is planned, the regulations and laws and which formal decision processes are applied.
Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)
Describe the meaning an importance of the technical urban infrastructure. Describe and explain the need of a well functioning, sustainable road transport system, as an example of a technical infrastructure system. Describe the conditions for planning and design of the traffic infrastructure. Design a road, calculate the coordinates and produce drawings for the horizontal and vertical alignment. Design a pavement based on traffic and material properties. Perform common traffic analyses. Explain the Plan- and building law and its implications on infrastructure planning. Examlify environmental demands connected to the road planning and design. Describe the sources of community and explain traffic noise distribution and attenuation off noise. Make noise level calculations.
Content
The basics in road, traffic and technical urban planning.
Organisation
The course is given with lectures, exercises and individual and group assignments. The course interacts with Information retrieval XBI030.
Literature

Examination
Written exam. All individual and group assignments passed.
