Aim
The aim of the course is to improve the understanding of the interplay between technology and society, especially several forms of institutional and governmental roles for industrial change, corporate strategy, technology use and development.
Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)
- Identify, analyze och problematize the role of institutions for industrial change, corporate strategy, technology use and change
- Apply concepts such as regulation, policy, institutions and innovation on individual, corporate, societal technology use and development
- The student should also be able to apply the concepts in relation to the future working role as engineer
Content
The course is an overview course which considers technology development and societal interaction based on theories from the following areas: foresight, information society, regulation, policy, strategy, ethics, and globalisation
