implementation (model).
- Get sense of the detail through model building.

Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)

Part 1, Project
- Understand the principles of presenting a small building through architectural and building drawings.
- Understand the structure and construction of the building.

Part 2, CAD - from sketch to presentation
- apply CAD in sketching
- apply CAD in the completion of architectural drawings according to industry standards

The students make necessary architectural and building drawings for a small (10-20 sqm) building of wood and build a scale model, 1:10. The students make material, cost and construction assessments of their individual projects. The course starts in June and ends in September.

The course is organized in lectures and theoretical / practical parts.

The course has a maximum number of participants: The course is open for a maximum of 15 projects. Two students may cooperate on one project, and in these cases more than 15 students can be admitted to the course.

A reading list will be provided at the start of the course.

Examination including compulsory elements

For the grade approved, approved drawings and models are required.

If the result is not considered as a pass in the course, then supplementation must be completed in accordance to written instructions and assessed in the next subsequent re-examination period. If this primary supplementation does not result in a pass and further supplementation is then required, this will also be notified in writing. This secondary supplementation will be assessed in the subsequent re-examination period. If the additions are then not deemed sufficient for passing the course, the course should be retaken.

The course examiner may assess individual students in other ways than what is stated above if there are special reasons for doing so, for example if a student has a decision from Chalmers on educational support due to disability.
