Aim

The aim of the course is to give the participant the opportunity to supplement previous vocational education with both tool and method training as training to work in projects.

Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)

  • Identify their own needs for skills development
  • Collaborate constructively with employees with different skills to carry out a project task.
  • Show communication skills that build on skills from the communication course.
  • Convert her/his specific engineering or architectural skills into practice (eg making drawings or models) in order to solve parts of a project task.
  • Demonstrate increased tools and / or method competencies.

Content

  • Introduction to working in project form and project planning
  • Meetings with subject competent supervisor for project follow-up
  • Participation in selected moments of Chalmers regular education offerings

The course is based on the participants taking active responsibility for their own learning and skills development.

Organisation

Lectures and reading of relevant literature with regard to their own needs for competence development. Exercises with the aim of acquainting with appropriate tools in each subject area. Participants are expected to be well prepared for each meeting with the supervisors.

Examination including compulsory elements

The examination is continuous and based on submitted reports concerning the chosen project, focusing on the identification of own skills, development needs and partly the outcome from participation in other (regular) courses.
Final grade requires an approved report and presentation of the project as well as active participation.
