Aim

The aim of the coures is to give the students the opportunity to, as
realisticly as possible, carry out an industrial product development project within a cross-functional team, thereby preparing them for a career as product
developers.

Content

The course is based on real industrial product development projects initiated in different companies. Each company formulates the task and describes the problems in connection with this task. The students are organized in cross-functional project teams, and each team takes on one project and is expected to present a solution to the company at the end of the course after seven months. The result shall contain a market analysis, an analysis of potential economic outcome, technical documentation sufficient for prototype manufacturing, technical analysis and test results,
visualisation models and (if appropriate) functioning prototypes.

Organisation

The project is introdused and the project team is formed during the first half of the fall semester. The team then carries out a team-building exercise and prepare for tha planning of the project. The project starts with the second half of the fall semester and ends at the end of the spring semester.
