Worldwide students are taking action for sustainable development. Whether it's about mobilising strikes, fundraising, joining political movements, creating innovative solutions or incorporating sustainability in their academic education - students are raising their voice and leading a movement for change. They work tirelessly to create change and impact the world around us. It is time for these stories to be told, to be heard - and for these heroes to step into the light – this is the #studentsOfGBG.
Do you know a sustainability hero or are you one yourself?
We want to share your story, be inspired by you and celebrate your actions! Nominated heroes should be students at Chalmers University of Technology or the University of Gothenburg, and be actively working to promote sustainable development. This could be by being involved in a sustainability-focused organisation, creating content online, working for an innovative start-up, be an activist and much more. A selection of sustainability heroes will be portrayed on the Student Sustainability Hub social media channels under the hashtag #StudentsOfGBG
What do we mean when we talk about "sustainable development"?
At the Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development, we work with sustainable development from, what we call, a holistic perspective on sustainable development. For us, that means that we work with all dimensions of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is why we encourage you to nominate heroes that work not only with issues related to the environment, including for example topics related to democracy, equality, justice and so on.
Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis.
#StudentsOfGBG is initiated by the Student Sustainability Hub at the Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development.
