Chalmers gives notice of redundancy affecting 180 employees
A ten-year increase in personnel combined with long-term low interest rates have led to Chalmers’ pension-related costs currently rising in an unbalanced manner. In order to avoid a growing deficit going forward, a number of work packages have been prepared during spring 2020. Chalmers is today forced to give notice of redundancy affecting 180 employees.
All parts of Chalmers University of Technology’s operations are affected by these work packages, and all 13 department are affected by personnel reductions. The majority of the redundancies will affect Chalmers Operations Support.
“It is very painful for us to have to give notice of redundancy,” says Stefan Bengtsson, Chalmers President and CEO.
