Introduction for doctoral students

In order for you as a new doctoral student to quickly become familiar with your new workplace and get started with your research studies, you will be given an introduction from both central level and your department. In addition, the HR specialist at your department shall provide you with information about how your department is organised, as well as your employment and salary conditions, etc. Such should take place as soon as possible after your appointment. At certain departments the introduction takes place individually, and at others in groups.

Chalmers general introduction for doctoral students
Chalmers' general introduction for newly admitted doctoral students is a compulsory part of the doctoral studies. The introduction is arranged twice each year, in the spring and in the autumn, and is held in English.

The introduction provides both general information about research studies at Chalmers and information about rights and responsibilities. The doctoral students are also informed about where they can turn to in matters of gender equality and working environment.
