The principle of public access to official records and public documents For many years, we in Sweden have had a unique possibility to gain access to the activities of public authorities. Through the principle of public access to official records, which is regulated by the Swedish Freedom of the Press Act, we have the right to gain access to public documents kept by a public authority. As a foundation university, Chalmers is ranked as a public authority in this respect, which implies that our documents, including those related to research activities, are public.
